A few of Ron's Horse Training client testimonials.
Thank you to all that emailed these in with permission to post here! :)

I had Ron come out and try a new mare for me before I committed to buying her.  She hadn't been used in a year and I was a bit leary of her.  He rode her on the trail for me and put her in all kinds of situations (garbage truck, meeting buffalo over a fence, dogs, etc) and he worked her at all gaits.  I asked him if he thought she needed a month or two of re-training and he said  'No, it would just be a waste of your money, she doesn't need it.'  I trust his opinion and was thankful for his honesty.  I wouldn't hesitate to use him to train or evaluate a horse.

I had been thrown by my young 16h plus gelding and had injuries that kept me in a cast for 6 months then 6 months of rehabilitation so a lot of fear issues had set in even though I had been riding since I was 12.  I sent my horse to a well known trainer for 60 days just before my rehab was complete to try to have my horse safer and ready for me but this trainer didn't know how to work with someone that has had riding injuries or fear issues and never took my horse off his property like he said he would.  He also ran my horse to tire him instead of training.  I was thrown again while riding my horse at this trainer's close to the end of our 60 days so I took my horse home.  My horse was nervous and edgy, I was afraid of him and he was afraid of me.  My horse and I together slowly made progress but still needed someone to really take the time to work with my horse for trail riding and get us past some issues.  Ron only takes one horse at time to devote it to the horse and rider in training so we patiently waited on his list for our turn.  Ron was great for my horse, very consistent and quiet.  Ron works with the rider and encourages you to come as often as you can.  Ron is great about talking to you and asking questions and trying to understand both horse and rider.  After my first couple of rides at his place he knew that he needed to adjust his training methods to help me and my horse to become a team.  He could ride my horse fine and probably anyone else could but I needed a little different riding technique to help me so he worked with my horse to ride the way I needed.  Instead of saying that he only trains this way and that I had to conform, he worked my horse the way that I needed to help me get past the issues so that I could get stronger.  It takes someone very dedicated to really look at the horse and it's specific rider to try and make a team from that package instead of cookie cutter training methods.  Thank you Ron,

Ron is an excellent horse trainer.  Whatever the problem is, he can work through it for you.  What I like the most about Ron is that he takes a horse and not only works through the problem but he works with the owner so they can handle the horse after he has trained it.  Safety is one of his biggest thing with the horse and the rider.  If he feels the horse isn't safe with the rider he tells you about it and tries to fix the problem.  Also he will give you ride time with correction so you are safe and you know how to handle your horse.  Ron is a very good horse trainer that is concerned with the horse and rider safety.  The one thing he does,  is goes out of his way to trailer the horse to different places for exposure and see how the horse reacts so there are no surprises to the owner.
I think Ron is a wonderful trainer and would take another horse to him for whatever problem, its better to be safe.

Ron did a very thorough job working with my horse. My horse was  uncomfortable in group situations and most of Ron’s rides include his family which is a great experience for the horse. Ron took him to the beach, trailered him lot of places and on many different trails. All that was included in his training fee. Ron only takes one horse at a time so my horse went on all the family outings for Ron to ride. He came home a different horse.  He is much more trusting and a nicer horse to have now. Ron takes very good care of the horses when they are with him.

Whether you are starting a young horse or tuning up a trusty mount, Ron has the experience and patience that every horse needs and deserves.  His training techniques are both humane and effective.  The Davis family atmsophere provides a menagerie of natural obstacles that your horse will eventually experience on the trail. Some of those natural items include children playing, dogs barking, a smoke pit, "Miss Piggy" the watch pig, and other horses all in a controlled atmosphere.   You will definately get your money's worth with Ron, I know I have!

I bought a barely green-broke Arabian gelding and found out quickly that I wasn't knowledgeable enough to handle and work with this horse. I wanted this horse and it was important for me to have someone work with him as well as myself to make this a workable and pleasant relationship.  Ron Davis was calm in spite of  a most anxious and upset gelding that I brought to him. I was most impressed at how relaxed Ron was around Sunny....it took no time for Ron to get Sunny calmed down and work with him...in a matter of minutes...he has a relaxed horse following him around without any lead...Sunny was terrified of trailers, being next to them, being tied to one and most of all loading and hauling in one...Ron worked with Sunny and myself and by putting into practice what Ron taught me..I have a calm and easy loading horse that  jumps in and stands quietly in the trailer...Ron has also worked with me on some other  issues I had come up with Sunny...every one of them are solved today.  Ron is a one of a kind trainer - he only takes one horse at a time - the horse gets individual attention - the horse gets worked every day - in event of inclimate weather, you will still get your 30 days of training.  Ron does not limit his training only to a round pen and/or arena - he takes the horse out into the "real world", hauling and riding in situations that most trail riding folks would want to do.  I would not consider taking my horse or training needs to anyone else.

It was been a wonderful experience taking our 2 yr old gelding to Ron for 60 days of training. He was given the greatest care  including nursing his legs for a self induced injury from kicking stall walls during the night.  He really gives you value for your dollar in that he trains horses with a calm hand and mind and if you pay for 60 days, you get 60 days even if it takes 80 days due to injury or weather etc... I was very impressed when he made sure to ride my horse at the beach, through some nasty terraine and in a parade to test him and train him for whatever I might take him to later.

By insisting we ride the horse while he coached us on cues and discipline he made sure we were ready to take him home and continue riding with consistent cues and discipline.  He has always been fair and available for assistance or advice. He is a great trainer and gives you a horse you can feel confident in riding anywhere.

I try to never say never, but I will never use any horse trainer except Ron Davis. He is gentle, quiet and patient with the horse. I think one of the things I like best is he wants you to be involved, unlike some trainers that don't want you around. I have a yearling that will go to Ron when it's time. He is well worth the drive. If you have questions please feel free to email me at horse_whisper31@yahoo.com. My name is Lola.

I cannot adequately recommend Ron without giving background information about my mare.  Diamond was a PMU mare.  She spent the better part of her first ten years stuck in a stall, peeing in a bag. She was released to give birth and be bred again.  Then she was run back in a stall to be tied up and pee in a bag again.  Her farm went under and 25 head of pregnant mares were being sold to slaughter.   I had been considering getting a horse or two for the Funny Farm, but I wasn’t sure we were ready to  take on that immense responsibility.  I found out through the internet what was going on.
I fell in love with Diamond the minute I saw her pic.   My very large son, wanted Fiona, the largest mare on the website.

Mike and I paid the fee, and drove to FL to pick up two completely wild pregnant mares.  We had not the first clue what we were getting.  Our girls would not eat feed if humans were too close.  We put lawn chairs out near the round bale and sat in them after work.  I read books to the girls. Eventually, we were able to touch and brush them.
Fiona foaled first, but she kicked her baby in the head a week after  birth.  Diamond’s baby, Creole, lived and is now a wonderful trail horse. Soooooo….. Cree was about six months old and needed to be weaned.   I found a trainer that would take Diamond.  I tried to catch Diamond and she tried to jump the fence.  She took a t pole to the shoulder because I pushed her too hard.  The trainer took her anyway thinking to do easy ground work with her.  He sent her back after three weeks saying that she was a crazy horse and was going to kill someone.  He said that I needed to put her down  immediately before she killed someone couldn’t do that. God gave that horse to me and sent me to that horse.  Putting her down was not an option. I was perfectly OK with her being a yard ornament.

My friend Joy bought her daughter a horse and wanted to board the horse here…. COOL….. I’ve got three horses, none of them ridable, I’m all for a forth that could be ridden.  The seller was also a horse trainer.  He took Fiona.  I wasn’t ready to hear that Di needed to be put down again so I sent Fiona.   Fiona came back green broke which is what I paid for.  We have worked  with her and she is now probably my best trail horse.  He then took Diamond. And he kept her, and kept her, and kept her…. And then told me that he could ride her, but I would never be able to. But since he failed to adequately break Diamond, he would breed her to his TWH.  Cool….. So now we have Jazzy.  And Jazzy will have a trust fund  should we die before her.

And then after all of this, in an attempt to wean Jazzy, I sent Diamond to Ron.  I got her at 10, she is now 16.  And Ron trained her to be a perfectly good trail horse. I am so unbelievably amazed by what he has done for her that I cannot even remotely begin to explain it.   Ginger S. ginger1236@yahoo.com
