Gentle, kind, just about anyone can ride. I have given lessons to beginners on him. 15.1 hands, easy keeper, puts his head down for a child to halter or bridal. Does all the usual: clips/ties/bathes/farrier/worming/loads/hauls/etc. He is very low in the 'pecking order' in the herd, in fact my mares were pretty mean to him for about a month before they decided to let him in, reluctantly :) Conner has
moved up to JJ, and Braden has moved from Pinto to Gitterbug. As
you can see, my kids have done all types of trail riding on him:
down the road, 7IL ranch, the beach, swimming in Lake Sam Rayburn, and
even a little team penning (although he isnt that good at speed events). I would love to
buy him back, to have as that great 'extra' horse, but we cant justify
it financially. We want to see him go where he is that perfect horse for
a weekend trail rider, or an older child learning to ride. He has
no speed or desire to be a 'working' mount...a trail rider and friend is
what he is best suited for. We really love this guy
and want to see him in a good home. |
